ADOPT
why adopt?
When you adopt from Valley Dog Rescue, you’re not only gaining a loyal companion—you’re giving an overlooked dog the love, security, and family they deserve.
Our adoptable dogs, many of them seniors or smaller breeds, have been lovingly cared for in foster homes, allowing us to know each dog's unique personality, needs, and quirks. Choosing adoption means you're directly supporting a compassionate, foster-based rescue dedicated to giving second chances to dogs who might otherwise be left behind. With Valley Dog Rescue, you're making a meaningful difference for the dog and yourself!
Please read our Adoption FAQ for additional information on adopting through VDR.

Caesar
Caesar is a 12-year-old cockapoo mix (about 17 lbs) with the sweetest, most easygoing personality. This adorable one-eyed boy was found abandoned in a parking lot and, after no owner came forward, he was taken in by Valley Dog Rescue. Now, he’s safe and ready to find a loving home to spend his golden years.
Caesar is as gentle and friendly as they come—he’s great with people, dogs, and kids, and truly just wants to be near his humans. He spends most of his days relaxing, napping, and enjoying the simple things in life, but still gets excited for his walks and has a little spark in him.
As a super senior, Caesar does have some minor age-related needs and is a bit hard of hearing, but he’s been fully evaluated and cleared by our vet.
If you’re looking for an easy, affectionate dog to share your days with, Caesar may be your perfect match. -
Cosette
Cosette is still undergoing some recovery for her health, but will be available for adoption soon! :)
This little nugget came to us from East Valley Shelter as a stray who needed more medical help than the shelter could provide. She was found matted head to toe, and the matting was so severe that they believe she couldn’t even open her mouth. She was skin and bones, and our main priority is helping her gain weight! She’s up to date on vaccines and is microchipped, but still needs to be spayed. More on this sweet girl coming soon! -

Optional One-Week Trial Adoption
We know bringing a new dog into your life is a big decision, so we offer an optional one-week trial adoption period for approved and local adopters. During this time, you'll welcome the dog into your home just as you would if the adoption were final. You'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee upfront, and if it turns out not to be the right fit, you're welcome to return the dog at the end of the trial. We'll refund the full adoption fee, no questions asked. It's our way of supporting thoughtful, lasting matches—while giving you and the dog a chance to settle in without pressure.
Please read our Adoption FAQ for additional information on our optional adoption trial period.
